Tomás Gomez Robledo was born in 1952 in Washington D.C., USA. 
He studied at the San Carlos National School of Plastic Arts and 
at the La Esmeralda National School of Painting, where he was a 
student of Roger von Gunten, Gilberto Aceves Navarro and Vicente
 Gandía. In 1989 he was awarded the National Prize of the National 
Institute of Fine Arts. His work has illustrated the covers and pages 
of various publications of the Colegio de México, among them 
the 1985-1986 yearbook of the Auditorio Nacional and he designed 
the commemorative plaque for the 45th anniversary of this venue.
 He also collaborated with José Barbosa on a painting project for
 the Guggenheim Museum in Barcelona.
