Tomás Gómez Robledo was born in 1952 in Washington D.C., USA. He has been a teacher at the Faculty of Plastic Arts of the Universidad Veracruzana, at the National School of Plastic Arts and adjunct teacher of Gilberto Aceves Navarro in his painting school.
In 1989 he won the National Prize from the National Institute of Fine Arts. He has illustrated the covers of various publications of the Colegio de México.

He illustrated the 1985-1986 yearbook of the National Auditorium and designed the commemorative plaque for the 45 years of this venue. He is currently working with José Barbosa on a pictorial project for the Guggenheim Museum in Barcelona.

He imagines and interprets diverse scenarios where the most important thing is the great display of color, which becomes the very structure of his works. It uses few tones, but contrasting, of great strength and visual richness.

It is the color that creates the composition, the forms, the space. The large and continuous spots make up an open and vital image.
